Untersbergbahn

The Untersberg on the border between Salzburger Land in Austria and Berchtesgadener Land in Bavaria is very popular in the winter with local winter sports lovers. And it is little wonder, since the Untersberg is in an ideal location, right at the entrance to Salzburg. The state-of-the-art Untersberg cable car takes you to the mountain station for the Untersbergbahn. From here there is an impressive view to to the city of Salzburg, Berchtesgadener Land and Rosittental. The challenging 7.5 kilometre ski route is a 15 to 20 minute walk from the mountain station. The altitude difference down to the valley is some 1400 metres. The area is also fantastic for ski tours and snowshoe hikes. Please note: It is not possible to issue tickets (sale, new tickets) or redeem vouchers at the Untersbergbahn!
